As we approach the final days before Christmas and New Years, you betta be nailing down your aperitif drinks! This Holiday Spritz, I must say, is the perfect alternative to opening with champagne or white wine – hell, it’s actually a combo of the two!
At the ADL Holiday Party last week I was responsible for creating custom cocktails for party guests and the JARDESCA Holiday Spritz was just the ticket! (Hm, did I just say that?! What am I? #lame) Really though, the ease of this recipe combined with festive DIY cocktail station (see Part 1👇), made for the least stressful party I have ever hosted! WOW is right. 💃💃
Here’s how you concoct this bubbly refreshment:
- First things first, use a short glass – preferably a stemless wine glass, but shorter plastic cups work for big parties
- Rub lemon on the rim then gently roll in sugar (use powdered for a more “snowy” effect)
- Fill glass with ice and pour 2/3 full with JARDESCA California Aperitiva
- Top off with prosecco, so fill almost the rest of the glass or the remaining 1/3
- Add a splash of pomegranate juice (the more you add the sweeter the drink)
- Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and some pomegranate seeds
JARDESCA, even though blended with a mix of 3 dry and sweet white wines, is actually not very sweet. I would consider it much more herbaceous than sweet, which is why I found the pomegranate juice a nice touch. Plus you can impress all your out of town relatives since it was hand crafted locally, in Sonoma. 😉
(PS: You can serve this spritz year round! Just change up the garnish and juice to make more seasonally appropriate. 👍)
Hope you all enjoy your holiday parties, try out this aperitif cocktail and peep Part 1 of this post to see how I set up the cocktail station 👆 for a less stressful hostess experience and killer guest experience! ✨
