I talk about literally running around SF way too often….yes, it’s still a thing. 🤦♀️ But for the last year or so, I’ve also been toying with the idea of getting a bike! Mainly for my commute (lord knows at 8:50 those Ubers are surging 2x) and I’ve def already missed the bus by this point. It’s a fact. It happens.
I kept putting off the bike purchase, making excuse after excuse. I work about 7 blocks from work, it’s a 25 min walk or a short Uber ride. BUT it’s also a 10 min bike ride and all downhill! Which I discovered when I rented the latest and greatest Uber Bike! 😄🚴♀️⚡️
Early morning before work, I tend to get lost in blog land resulting in a never-ending pattern of running late…always. But not this morning! This morning I got to sit on my couch, writing my post and letting the clock tick away, because I could see on my Uber app that the nearest bike available was just at the end of my block! SCORE. 🚲📲👍
AND I’M OFF!
It was freakin’ aweeeeesomeeeee. 🙌🙌 Not gunna lie, when I got on the bike to ride to work I was a little nervous. Can you blame me? Riding around SF can be dicey for bikers, but immediately once I took that first pedal I let out a loud “WOO!” and was hooked! Did I mentioned they are electric? So the “woo” could’ve escaped when I felt that assisted boost come through on my first pedal…especially noticeable on the uphill ride home. 😉
EXTRA TIME
Because I got to work beyond fast on the Uber Bike, I had extra time to stop into one of my favorite cafés, Craftsman and Wolves! 🥐☕️ Getting this moment of peace and Rebel Within (egg filled muffin) before heading into work was a real treat! So relaxing and just kicked off my day to a blissful start. ☺️
Riding out that high all day long, I was feelin’ extra sweet and decided to stop at BiRite Market to get Katie some flowers and a bottle of wine for later.🍷💐 I know, I know, I’m a great girlfriend 😚 But this bottle holder in the basket🔝was just begging to be used! Plus, commuting home will be a piece of cake now.
AND I’M OFF, AGAIN!
..En route home with a basket of treats and bag of smiles. 😆🚴♀️
At just $2 for 30 minutes, they are cheaper than any other city transportation AND faster during commuting hours. Being such a hustler, I am allllll about this.
These new bikes, powered by JUMP, are hard to miss with their vibrant red color sprinkled around the city. Unlike other local bike companies, Uber Bike can be tied up and left at any bike stand around the city. One of my favorite features because it made life so easy when I got to work with no stress about finding some hub to lock it at. Don’t worry, there’s enough floating around SF that I’ve never had a problem finding one nearby for pickup either.
I truly loved the entire Uber Bike experience and definitely will be using it for more commutes, and weekend rides with Katie in the near future. BTW they are currently ONLY AVAILABLE in San Francisco! That’s right, feel lucky.😝 But more importantly, go try it out! And if you do please comment below because I’m dying to know if I’m the only newbie this obsessed! 🙏🤔
While this post is in partnership with Uber Bike, all opinions are my own after having this experience.
