There are plenty of summertime watermelon cocktails out there, (I mean, PLEASE, summer and watermelon are literally inseparable) but I wanted to feature this one for 3 reasons: simple, cheap, effective. 👍👍👍
I’m going to paint you a picture: the sun is beaming, friends are over, grill is going, birds are chirping…. I dunno about you but in this moment, I don’t have the time (really even the desire) to make guests an elaborate drink. Like who reallyyyy wants to be shaking away in the kitchen while your guests are nommin’ up the sausages!? Not I! This watermelon cocktail is the SH*T because its easy to make and totally a crowd pleaser (helllooooo… its pink and served from a watermelon for gods sake 😉).
No, its not the “prettiest, pinned 356 times, plant and fruit garnish galore, classy stemware on point” cocktail you’ve ever seen…but thats the point. It’s DO-able. 🙊
Ingredients:
1 Watermelon
Ice
Vodka (preferably higher quality since not much else in the recipe)
Fresca/Soda Water (optional)
Process:
- Carve out watermelon and gather pieces in bowl, let sit for at least 10 min so juice can drain
- Fill watermelon with ice
- Pour LOTS of vodka in 😄😄😄
- Strain watermelon juice from bowl back into the watermelon
- Splash Fresca (or soda water) on top – optional but highly suggested unless you somehow have the juiciest watermelon of the season
- 🍉 Ladle into glasses, serve on ice, garnish with watermelon 🍉
You guys can literally bang this out in 10 min. Summer should be for enjoying the sun!☀️ Not slaving away mixing complex cocktails, save it for a cloudy day. 😜
