While in NYC over the holidays, I got the opportunity to take a tour of the Diane Von Furstenberg flagship store and offices! Heading back to NYC this week (for my first ever NYFW 🙀😻) got me reminiscing about what an incredible experience this was. So incredible, in fact, that I just had to share it with you all now.
First off, I had no idea their offices were above the store, let alone that Diane herself lives in the penthouse on the 5th floor!! ⭐️ #starstruck ⭐️
It’s so interesting that stores these days are beginning to really up their visual design game. Making every nook and cranny of the store aesthetically pleasing and inviting, with the goal that people will want to hang in there for awhile, and let’s be honest, Instagram it. 😝😝 Hey I don’t blame them, it totally worked on me! See evidence below. 😉📷👇
Get a glimpse into the VIP dressing room! 🔝 A place for celebrities and IT girls to try on the latest and greatest from DVF with no interruption. Sure I felt fancy going in, but what was even better was the conversation I had down here with the DVF team…
To summarize, DVF has always been a brand, by woman and for women. Empowering women of all ages to be who they are, feel comfortable in their skin and in what they are wearing. But only until recently have women been more under attack, politically and socially. DVF wants to use this momentum and really emphasize their empowerment messaging, and I COULDN’T BE MORE ON BOARD. 👏👏👏💃
I’ve never met a woman who is not strong. They don’t exist” – Diane Von Furstenberg
They want to hear and share stories of women doing awesome work and following their dreams. Highlighting these real career driven and smart women, breaking out of the typical model/influencer marketing mold. #YES
Honestly, meeting some of the team behind the DVF empire was even more rewarding than the tour. Such a strong group of (mostly) females. It’s always super refreshing for me to connect with people that are so hard working, yet still so happy and friendly. I kept thinking to myself, “I’ve met my people!” 😂🙌
Totally caught up in the moment, we decided to shoot some video content for their January hero print, the “Carson Stripe.” It was beyond fun playing dress up in their photo studio, sipping champagne and shooting this How to Tie a Wrap Dress video with the Carson Stripe Dress. Fun fact: I actually didn’t know how to tie a wrap dress before making this video haha. 🙊🙊
All in all, this was one of the best days of my life! I’m altering my statement from earlier….This tour and meeting the amazing team wasn’t incredible, it was life-changing. 🤩🤩🤩

February 6, 2018 at 1:27 amWow I didn’t know she lived there too! She is such an incredible woman, so vibrant and as you say, empowering. I have a vintage wrap dress that isn’t in my colours, but I can’t part with none the less, it is exactly the DVF brand you speak of, bold and so flattering too. The store looks beautiful, I’d love to get to NYC one day and would definitely have this on my stores to visit list!
