Say hello to the new kid on the block, Seven Stills!👋 😄 Well I guess they’ve been around for about 6 months now, but I’m here to put them on💥BLAST💥 cause they’re that great. It was suchhhh a chill tour, starting with the chill AF tour guide, Jeff, but ending with the casual open space and lack of a crazy crowd. (PRO TIP: Get a Groupon for the tour like Katie and I did! 😜🤘).
You gotta make an afternoon of it (there’s even a new brewery next door, so hit that ish up afterwards🍻👍)! But now for the best part…the whiskey is made from beer! YES, you heard that. THE WHISKEY IS DISTILLED FROM BEER. 🥃🔛🍺 Meaning, the badass distillers at Seven Stills are snaggin’ brews from top-tier craft breweries, then distilling the whiskey with the flavor profile of that beer and aging it in new American oak barrels.🙀 Currently there are 4 “staples” in the rotation which are distilled from a chocolate oatmeal stout, coffee porter, double IPA, and a sour beer. They also do one-off collabs (currently teaming up with one of my favs, Almanac❤️), for limited edition whiskies.
You’ll get a flight of whisky to start… but def take a glass of one of their homemade beers while you tour 🍺✔️ and listen to this super sweet, super unique process. You’ll even get to try their 4 flavors of bitters and vodka afterwards! The vodka BLEW me away honestly, like who sips vodka??? Well this one is a GO. 🙌🍸👅
So what did I walk out with?? (Besides an even greater appreciation for whiskey and the SF community of brewers/distillers 🤓🖤):
- Chocasmoke Whiskey – Couldn’t resist that subtle chocolate smoke quality; ’twas the first whiskey I discovered without cringing my mouth! Plus on the unique scale ➡️ ⚖️ 💯
- Bitters – I’m a big Old Fashioned girl, so I knew that this bottle would be the perfect hint of extra flavor needed to spice up the traditional cocktail. 🥃👌
- California Courage Vodka – Who knew vodka could actualllyyyy taste this good?? I’m still savoring it 6 months later.⭐️⭐️⭐️
Combo brewery, distillery and tap room – what’s not to love?! Thanks Seven Stills for a phenomenal experience! Can’t wait to return, on another #SippinSunday 😛🎉🥃🌤🍻
