It’s been awhile since I’ve given the Bay Area some local beer love so this one goes out to the amazing Russian River Brewery 💛 for their summery sour brew, Santification! 🙌🍻😋 (Side note: +++ Bay Area love to give out for our Anchor Brewing 💙, as today is the kick-off to Drink Steam Week! Celebrating Anchor for pioneering the craft beer industry – list of special events here). Back to the Russian River feature here cause they truly are one of my favorite breweries since everything that comes out of there is gold…and thats a hard feet to accomplish. 👍👍
TASTE TEST: Pours light bright and bubbly! Not overly sour on the first sip. Definitely leading with some citrus flavors, green apple but also a level of earthiness and dry summer grass. Probably from the 100% brettanomyces fermentation (such a sucker for those bretta beers!!! 😆🌾) giving it that nice “farmy” flavor balance…but subtle yes, def subtle earth flavor. Much more sour and bright notes – like a little pineapple? 🍍 Medium bitterness with a crisp finish – voila! 👌👌
I’ve deemed it the perfect rooftop beer 😜😎✌️ To be sipped on a roof, with the sun beating down on you. Smack in the middle of the afternoon on a warm day this beer will be your refreshing saviorrrrr.💦🙌 For real though, according to RR brewery “it’s rather refreshing on a warm day” and (even though I’m not religious) can I get an AMEN to that!! 🙌😂🍻 Everyone better be sippin’ something today! Cheers
