Imagine my excitement when I found out that Anchor Brewery FINALLYYYYY started doing weekend tours! Major come up 👏 👏👏 I immediately jumped on that bandwagon because why wouldn’t I want to tour the brewery that pioneered the craft beer industry?! #duh🙋 Also fun fact, it’s Drink Steam Week right now (Aug 14-21) which is a legit, mayor appointed holiday honoring Anchor Brewing and all they have done for the beer industry (and it’s A LOT).

3 supa cool brewery fun facts:
- Anchor was the first brewery post prohibition to make a barley wine beer, an IPA, a winter seasonal and an american wheat beer – HOLY CRAP is right
- Jim Spint is the artist for the labels, he lives on a houseboat and does all the art by hand
- Anchor bought the bottle mold so they are the only ones in the industry to have this bottle shape
I was honestly SO shocked at the variety of beers they produce! Stupid me only thought it was Anchor Steam and a few others you typically see in-store. BIG mistake. Some of their BEST beers are at the taproom. My favorites to watch out for: Mango Wheat, Anchor Saison, Old Foghorn (Barleywine ale) and Orange Splash (a yummy lager made especially for the SF giants!😋) I’m not even kidding when I say I shut down the place and couldnt stop talking to the friendly brewers and drinking alllllllllllll their beer lol.🍻
This was literally the best brewery tour I’ve been on, well worth the wait! I highly recommend going – plus they have a killer new roof deck with amazing views of the city! And who doesn’t love a good roof view?!?! 😛 so go goooo GO tour Anchor Brewery!! 🍺🍺

- (TONIGHT! 6PM-9PM) Drink Steam with Sanfranpsycho (and the Afterparty) – an evening of live screen printing, live music, local art, beer & ice cream, and more! Afterparty is at Blackthorn Tavern starting at 9PM
- (FRIDAY 8/19 5:30PM) Anchor Brewing’s Firkin Friday – celebrate with a brand new release Anchor Steam Beer cask-aged on preserved local mulberries! Live DJ!
- (SATURDAY 8/20 1PM) Drink Steam Silent Disco Bar Crawl -surely a good time! $10 tickets and get you a set of silent disco headphones, your first pint of Anchor Steam Beer, and $1 off Anchor beers.
