5 Things That Improved My Morning Routine

feature

So I know it’s supposed to be longer days and all but is anyone having a harder time getting up in the AM? I feel like were back to winter square one when its dark until 7…what is that!? Ok fine, a little dramatic given the fact that its ACTUALLY light out until 7pm now (👏👏👏) but still, I can’t say that I’m happy about the new morning darkness. I for one have A LOT to do before going to work and getting up is just SO harddddd. So hard. SO sO So SO sOOO SSooo sO hard. 😩💤💤

But regardless of daylight savings or whatever other excuse we as citizens of the world love to dream up, waking up in the morning is never a fun thing to do. In the most popular yet accurate way to put it: the struggle is real. But recently I’ve discovered a few key things that have made my morning routine easier and I want yours to be too!! So here’s how… 😃

Prep your coffee pot the night before. It may seem like such a quick task in the morning but it actually saves quite a bit of time to have it all ready to go at the press of a button, not to mention the crucial fact of coffee touching those lips evennn sooner (thank god🙌 ☕️).

But what’s EVEN better than that?! A Zuli smartplug – a serious game changer (& arugably the most important piece of this post.) A plug that you control via your phone, aka turn anything on/off as desired, by a repeated schedule or one offs. So whats my MO??? I set my plug to turn on M-F at 6am and off at 8am.👌 So when my sleepy feet shuffle into the kitchen, my pot of coffee is brewed, hot and ready to jolt me alive. (Plus I don’t have to worry about turning it off as I’m late running out the door to work, an inevitable factor of my morning routine 😁)

The Jawbone UP3 health tracker. Most use it for fitness tracking, which (don’t get me wrong), I love trying to hit my 10,000 step goal BUT what do I love this little wrist gem for most? The sleep tracking.💤💤 This bracelet will actually wake me up in the morning at the most optimal hour of my sleep cycle by vibrating on my wrist (and yes its strong enough to wake you) 🙌😈

A fuzzy robe (duh). This may seem like an obvious but it’s not people! I’ve witnessed first hand that not nearlyyy enough people have a soft robe they can rely on to keep them warm, snuggly and quilted upon sunrise.😻 YOU NEED IT. My robe is my most coveted possession (seriously ask ANYONE that knows me…it’s the robe or die lol). Don’t underestimate it guys, the power of a good robe is endless. And you need a good robe to face the reality of the cold morning air when you rip off those sheets. It’s the only way to go👌… (just ask any 🐻)

Before you go to bed, try making a to-do list specifically for the morning’s first tasks. I’ve found after a long nights rest, I’m not in the zone anymore and I can sometimes forget what was the top priority from the previous day. Plus writing it down before bed and having that initial morning plan will allows me to relax and fall asleep easier… now that my brain isn’t jogging through all the potential things that need to be completed when the sun rises again. 📝☀️

Fuzzy robe, automatic coffee machine, sleep tracking alarm guru?!?! Hell YA! But, I was sold at “easier morning.” So you give these a try!!

Comment below and tell me what makes your morning routine easier! I would seriously love to know 😄

One problem I have is actually getting out of bed at the time that I wanted to the night before. One thing I do, is plug my phone in away from my bed, so that I have to get up to shut the alarm off when it goes off. Even though it is uncomfortable to get up out of bed immediately, once I do it, I usually get up and stay up according to plan.
