Eat Here: Poggio Trattoria

poggio1

Last weekend I had the glorious opportunity to dine with some other fine blogger ladies at Poggio Trattoria and meet Executive Chef, Benjamin Balesteri (or just Ben, like I know him 😆) who’s been making quite the name for himself in this quaint Sausalito Italian restaurant! 🍽🍕🍝

They use available local ingredients + herbs/vegetables grown on-sight, so the menu changes daily and is super fresh!! I was blown away by the summer menu, but most importantly they make a meannnnn Negroni (we know how I loveeee my cocktails! 😉🍸). Actually they make 6 of them! Bartender, Tony Diiorio, not only nails the traditional Italian apéritif but also takes it to the next level by adding prosecco, Carpano Antica and vodka (not all in the same one, of course 😆).

Enough drink talk onto the nomssss….Pizza’s were 💣BOMB💣 – but if they had f*cked up the pizza then I’d be pretty concerned about the rest of it LOL. Thank god they didn’t, that dough was super fresh!  👍👍. Some other items to note: the little beef ragu ricotta “pillows”. and let’s be real who doesn’t love a menu with octopus?! 😋👌

THE CORN CUSTARD THOUGH! Drooool 👅💦. Being honest, I wasn’t even gunna touch it. Getting kinda full, looked like flan, idkkkk I DON’T TRUST IT! hahaha. But then I had a bite and mind = blown! Like the cross between dinner and desert that I’d always dreamed of! 😜

Butttt if you don’t quite believe me drooling on these photos as incentive , you can feel satisfied by the fact that Poggio’s been awarded countless 3 star review and fallen into the San Francisco Chronicle’s coveted “Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area” list each year since 2008! (Which they just received again in April 2016 here).
