OOO man, it’s that time of the year again. When everyone dresses up (or doesn’t dress at all 🙀 haha) running around SF like crazy people. 👹👻 Bay to Breakers is upon us!! It’s actually been a couple years since I’ve gotten up at 6:30am on a Sunday with the thought of alcohol in my mind. OOF is right.😴But here we are at the crack of dawn and I’m reaching for Mikkeller’s “Breakfast” beer to wake me up this morning. 💤👀🍻

An Oatmeal stout brewed with coffee (yes, coffee☕️), this is seriously the perfect way to start drinking if you haven’t even had real breakfast yet. I mean, after all there is coffee in it; an upper and a downer?! I’M IN! jkjk hahah but really I needed this if someone is going to demand I open my eyes… and mouth this early. 😆

TASTE TEST: Pours like very thin dark syrup. Minimal carbonation. Definite black coffee taste up front, kinda hits you in the face for a second. More bitter than I thought, not a milky stout at all. Dark chocolate, cacao notes… bitter. Burnt graham cracker, wood, oooo maybe a campfire. Guess it’s that roasty toasty malt. Hint of …raspberry? Is that a stretch?

My recommendation to you: if you think of it as drinking black coffee on that first sip, it’s delishhh. But think of it as beer and you’ll be a bit shocked.

HAPPY SIPPIN SUNDAY BAY TO BREAKERS!!! 🏃🍻🏃
