Truth: There’s not many cocktails in the world with ginger ingredients that I don’t like.😆 It’s pretty much a go-to if nothing else is popping out…I mean, have you ever had a ginger cocktail you didn’t like?! (Well, maybe don’t answer that so I can continue to live in this ginger bubble 😜) Actualllllly, funny enough, after making this drink it’s much more lemon forward then ginger 😁🍋, BUT the point is that ginger type cocktails usually have a great balance of (the right) flavors. 👍👍
Lemonade + summer, the inseparable BFFs. But boozy lemonade in the summer time?! Talk about an upgrade from childhood 😝☀️🍋🍹
Ingredients (serves 1):
20z vodka
3/4oz Domaine de Canton (ginger liqueur)
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice 🍋
1/2 oz ginger simple syrup (recipe here)
4 dashes ginger citrus bitters (optional)
Soda water
Process:
- Let sliced ginger steep in pot with sugar and water (recipe/further instructions for syrup here)
- When syrup is done, strain into glass and set aside. Keep leftover ginger pieces for garnish (or eat haha).
- Pour vodka, lemon juice, Domaine and ginger syrup into a shaker over ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until cool and frothy
- Strain cocktail from shaker into glass over ice. Add 3-4 dashes of ginger or citrus bitters and splash of soda water, gently stir a couple times. Garnish with the candied ginger from the syrup and a lemon wheel
